Hey guys! This week seemed so long. Like three weeks in one. You would think it wouldn't since I only had 2 and ½ days of school, but it seems like when there are snow days and whatnot that week just drags and in a not good way. However, it has left me feeling kind of productive so I am hoping to get some things on the never ending to-do list done this weekend. We will see how that goes 😉
A fun tidbit: The Color Me Rad race schedule is up and they finally opened up registration for the Allentown, PA race. It only costs about $32 with tax and it isn't to far away. Plus it is held at Dorney Park! I used to get season passes to there every summer when I was younger. We would only go to the water park, but it was always a fun twice weekly family trip 🙂 Anyway back to the point. Color Me Rad is a 5k color run and well it is really low key and all about fun. So...I want to sign up! It is May 10th so I have some time to get into some running and I am really hoping I can do it. It is no stress and would just be a fun first 5k. So maybe, maybe, I will sign-up!
Time for my third link-up to FTSF (Finish The Sentence Friday)! FTSF is that you are given a sentence each week and you finish it however you want, long or short. This week’s sentence was, “We can either be traditional or non-traditional in the way we do things, I..."

Thank you so much for the link to my post! That was a very emotional and spur of the moment post. One of the "I have to get this out" types. My grandfather was a very fun and funny man. He made everyone laugh.

It was a beautiful and heart warming post Michele! Thank you for writing it 🙂

We actually did eat dinner as a family when I grew up and we try to do so now. I guess whatever you grow up with is what becomes tradition and that's perfectly perfect tradition, ya know? Also YAY to the upcoming run. I've been slacking and need to get to the gym. Badly. None of my pants fit well.
strengthandsunshine
I agree with what you grow up with is what you know. But nothing is set yet with the run, haha, I still need to get the actual courage to really sign up!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats
Tradition is what is tradition for your family so I think not eating dinner together is what is your tradition and what works for you!
I am loving the look of those Quinoa Dolmades, what a great idea 🙂
strengthandsunshine
Exactly! Even though the media always says families should have dinner together, it just isn't feasible for so many.
Totally! My mouth waters every time I see them!
lovenataliemarie
You posted some great links and pins this week! Thank you for sharing! 😀

Thanks Natalie! Happy reading 🙂

I definitely have wanted to do a color run. I've personally done the warrior dash a couple of times which is a mud/obstacle style run and it is A BLAST! Only a 5k too, so it is totally doable.
I also just read that run, eat, don't repeat post, and I love it. Very thought provoking for sure!
Great link-ups 🙂
Have an awesome day
strengthandsunshine
Mud/ obstacle runs sound so hardcore! Haha but also really fun. Definitely something you would want to do with a group of friends though.
It was a great post!
Have a lovely weekend yourself Natasha! XOXO
Melissa @ nourishbymelissa.com
I signed up for the run once, then ended up going on vacation at the same time and had to miss it! I plan on finally doing it this summer though 🙂
strengthandsunshine
Well sometimes vacation just has to win out 😉 Haha! I hope you get to do one this summer!
Julie
I did the Color Run 5K. Sadly, only a handful of people actually ran it. I think I should've done a neon run instead.
strengthandsunshine
Did they walk, you mean?
Julie
Most people walked and took pictures of themselves. I was hoping that more people would be running because I'm not much of one and it would be motivating.
strengthandsunshine
That's why I think it would be good for me since I haven't run in many years and still haven't started!
Davida @The Healthy Maven
Those dolmades look incredible! And man is a bloggers work never done...off to read that post now. Have a great weekend, love!
strengthandsunshine
They do! I have to make them this weekend I just need some chard!
Have a lovely weekend yourself Davida! XOXO

Lovely list of finds this week, and oh my goodness! I love that oufit- HELLO! So me!:)
You know, I also find what you said about the dinner table interesting. My family is the SAME way. I eat two of my meals per day at the computer, and the other at night, usually in my bed- I know, I know!:) We haven't sat down at the table in like, 15 years since my family split up when I was in high school. Ever since, we still talk together a lot, but holidays are the only time we ever sit at the table, and sadly, it kinda feels weird. If we go out to eat together, for some reason, it doesn't seem odd at all though. That makes me even more sad, but I guess it's just the way things are. Plus, since I'm an adult, I could care less about the "proper" place to eat, and am just grateful for my relationship with food and my family right now. The other stuff is secondary!:)
PS- I'm SO grateful for yoga too. Do you have a favorite DVD you do? I have a few and love doing them in the mornings and at night<3 Have a fabulous Friday dear<3
strengthandsunshine
My brother is off at college now, my dad is always at work, and my mom somtimes isn't back from work either, plus I eat so early, so it just isn't feasible to eat together. But I guess it is kind of sad, but yes I am just grateful for being able to eat delicious food!
For yoga I love doing Fiji McAlpine's videos online. They are free at doyogawithme.com. Sometimes I find a really good heard power flow on youtube too!

I've never done a colour run - but I really want to!
This weekend is a long weekend for us (as it's Australia Day) so it's relaxing, relaxing and more relaxing - BLISS!
strengthandsunshine
Have a happy Australia Day! What do you guys typically do?
eatgreatbegreat
Yup, the color run is SO much fun! When I did it last year, it rained, which was kind of a bummer, but we still had a wonderful time!
strengthandsunshine
O no! Dud the color even work then? lol
eatgreatbegreat
It did! And, it was a pain in the neck to scrub off!
strengthandsunshine
Haha! So you have to where glasses right, so it doesn't get in your eyes?

I say you are right and if it isn't broken don't try to fix it! But seriously, loved learning a bit more about you here today with how you don't all eat dinner together and thank you so much for joint us and linking up again. And I know what you mean about the snow, because my girls literally had one full day of school this week. Crazy and was trying to play catch up day yesterday here, too!
strengthandsunshine
Right, nothing wrong if it works for us! O it is so so cold here, they should have canceled school and work now since its only 2 degrees out ahhh!
Cori @ olivetorun
I have never done a color run but I've heard great things about them. One of these days 😀
strengthandsunshine
