It doesn't matter what anyone says now in the decades of scrutinizing food, parenting, and lifestyle. Halloween is a tradition where sweet treats are involved and nothing should change that. Not even food allergies. If you want some candy, something sweet, you should be able to enjoy that tradition and choice. I learned about my food allergies and Celiac Disease at a later age so my trick-or-treating days were almost over anyway. But if I had them when I was in the height of my dressing up, going door-to-door, and filling my huge pillowcase with candy days, I would have felt extremely left out and angry.
So may it be Celiac Disease, a wheat allergy, egg allergy, dairy allergy, soy allergy, tree nut allergy, peanut allergy, corn allergy, fish allergy, shellfish allergy, thankfully there are some great companies and online retailers out there making some fun candy and treats (free of all the above allergens) so we can all still have a little Halloween celebration!

I found your page via Google, searching for allergy free candy. I just found out a little neighbor has peanut and egg allergies, so I want to be able to find some candy that will be enjoyed without having to worry (much, hopefully). Thank you for list, it has helped me so much!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
That is so so so wonderful to hear!!! I hope this does help then!
Laurie
A fantastic list for every little trick or treater out there.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thanks!

Thank you so much for sharing this awesome list. Sometimes is the spirit of celebrating a Holiday or special occasion the consideration of children (or adults) with allergies are often lost. This is such a great list!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thank you so much 🙂 Hopefully it was helpful!
Raia
Great list, Rebecca! I love all the health options. 🙂

I know a lot of moms who will appreciate this post.

Me too 😛

Thanks for this list. My daughter has an allergy to Red dye 40 where she breaks out in hives, so Halloween treats are always a time for her to sigh and accept that she can't enjoy over 50% of what's in her bag. We're doing the Teal Pumpkin Project this year and handing out little toys instead of food. I know a few places in our neighborhood do this already, and I have friends whose kids have kids with peanut allergies, and my brother in law has tree nut allergies, so this post is a big positive for us. I can't wait to share it with others!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
O well that's good! Having some non edible and edible options can be a great idea too!
Honest mum
What a fab round-up. Your site is such a wealth of knowledge for healthy foodies.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
That's the goal of my site, a place for healthy allergy-free living!
Marla
HI Rebecca,
I truly appreciate you giving such a great list of alternative treats for Halloween because there sure are a lot of children out there that have so many food allergies. Besides the treats you buy in most stores are filled toxic chemicals.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Conventional candy is pretty scary 😛
Sarah
Thank you for posting this list! With so many allergies out there it can be hard sometimes to come up with treats that all kids can have. I'm in charge of the Halloween Party for Aurora's class this year so this will come in handy as I know this year there are children with both dairy allergies as well as gluten free, but will be checking to see if there are others.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
I bet you could just MAKE something super fabulous!
Denise
Thank you for this list. This will come in hand for so many... teachers should have it on hand!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
It's not specific, just a resource to find options!
Annmarie
Great list! Definitely going to be sharing with other moms!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thanks!
Lazy Budget Chef
I could kiss you for this list!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Hahaha, hopefully you can find some goodies from these great companies and websites!
Miss Polkadot
In your excitement about all the options you forgot to let us know what we should tell you ;). But I'll just go ahead and say that I went trick-or-treating less times than I can count on one hand in my childhood. Halloween's not popular over here but we did particpate in 'Laternelaufen'/lantern parades. And the candy was obviously the best part. What's not to like about getting oodles more of candy than your parents would ever allow you?! (:
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
And I say the candy tradition should stay that way like it always has!
Hannah
Awesome list! I'm definitely going to share it around 🙂
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thank you!!
Sina @Vegan Heaven
What a great list, Rebecca! 🙂 I'm sure this will help a lot of parents whose kids have allergies. 🙂
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thanks Sina! So many resources!
Emma
This is a great idea for a post. No child should miss out on yummy treats on Halloween - or, even more important, *feel* like they are missing out!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Exactly!!
Tara | Treble in the Kitchen
What a great list! The freeze-dried fruit is a GREAT idea 🙂
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Right!? A nice crunchy sweetness that can also be "healthy" 😉
Audrey @ Unconventional Baker
Great list, Rebecca. Much needed since so many kids seem to have sensitivities these days.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
I know, sad 🙁 But hopefulful!
Leslie
These are great ideas! A lot of little mouths are allergic to things. I thought about doing a non candy treat this year.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
No! That's never fun! There are candy treat options!!
Michele
Really love this! Halloween is definitely a day when everyone should have a little candy (or a lot!)
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
I'd go with a lot.....and at night....so no one goes to sleep 😛
Suzan
What a great list to have - so many children can get deathly ill today............
Thanks for sharing
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
But there are some nice options for everyone to enjoy at least something!
Kathryn Grace
Thanks for compiling this comprehensive list. Will come in mighty handy. Pinning.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thank you!!
Ilona @ Ilona's Passion
Perfect collection! I should check them out!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
These sites and companies have tons of options!
Camille
This is a great list! It drives me nuts when all the peanut and peanut butter candy is marketed hard around Halloween. Half the people can't even eat that stuff anymore.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
There really are other safe treats at least!!
Liz @ The Clean Eating Couple Blog
This is such a great guide!!! It is also good to keep small toys around for kids who have allergies beyond just celiac disease.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Eh, but toys are pretty boring 😛 Haha!
Natalie | Feasting on Fruit
I think a pillowcase full of these treats would be far more tasty then a pillowcase full of the usual stuff! Actually I'll just take an entire pillowcase full of the Bare Fruit cinnamon apple chips, those are my jam I could eat them all night 🙂
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
I'm more of a chocolate candy kinda person 😉 Maybe I should give out bags of chia seeds to the kiddos 😉 Although....I might get arrested!
Shashi at RunninSrilankan
I love this list! I need to print it and stick it on my fridge! Thanks Rebecca
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Thanks Shashi!

Wow, this is such an amazing list Rebecca! What a great idea to share too - this will help so many people! I love the sound of all of these treats, I can see myself being very busing making candy for Halloween this year!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
I think I need to make some of my own too!
lindsay
