Am I a sell-out if I give you a "recipe" that's not really a recipe? I just couldn't let another summer pass without sharing my popsicle memories here on the Strength and Sunshine. You already heard the horror story of my sad popsicles molds I used one last time for those fudge-pops, and this time I have my new $1 popsicles molds to showcase too! What's better than a super easy, real fruit, no added sugar, ice pops in the summer? Not much. It seems to be a right of passage during the season and I always been a proud ice pop/popsicle connoisseur. I grew up with those fantastic chemical, artificial, sugar liquid in a plastic sleeve pops you bought in those big boxes and froze in your freezer. You know what I'm talking about...Fla-Vor-Ice!

The ever-coveted PINK ice was the holy grail, the sought after, the "don't you dare take the last PINK pop from the freezer!" They say it's the "tropical punch" flavor, but we all know it just tasted...PINK. There is no other way to describe the flavor of a Fla-Vor-Ice pink pop than simply put...PINK! I'm pretty sure just drinking the unfrozen liquid would have been fine by me (and I probably did that at some point). Those freezer-pops were also the "cure-all" for any health ailments. Have a stomach ache? Suck on a red pop. Have a sore throat? Suck on any flavor for immediate throat-soothing relief! Have a headache? You know the blue has magic powers for that! Congested? That green will do you good! Live long Fla-Vor-Ice!

I'm not going to tell you to have some Fla-Vor-Ice today though. We have some REAL fruit popsicles to make! You can use any fruit you want. Banana and strawberry, blueberry and raspberry, pineapple, and mango. Have fun with it! These strawberry mango pops seemed like the perfect combo to me. Pretty colors...and I had them on hand!

And I just found these! I think I need to invest and then replicate that PINK flavor for the ice. But how do we replicate...PINK? In the meantime, I think blending up all the summer fruit we have will do just fine. Refreshing summer licking and enjoying the sweetness we are given. From strawberry mango popsicles to any other flavor combo you want, popsicles are an essential summertime treat to make for the kids and yourself!

So tell me:

+ What was your favorite color of the Fla-Vor-Ices? I'll try not to cry if you don't say pink!

Loving the idea of suggesting different ice pops for various ailments, that made me giggle, never come across that before but I like it! And I'm with you, it's so easy to make healthy natural pops with real fruit, great to cool down in the hot weather!
