Hi friends! Hope you day is going well. Guess what I tried for the first time at dinner yesterday...Plantains! Lori and Michelle from Purely Twins, have made such a big bang in the blog world with all their plantain recipes, I knew I had to try one. I just simply make plantain fries. I Just cut up the plantain, coated the fries in smoked paprika, and baked for 35 minutes at 375ºF. They came out so crunchy...and a little to dry. So I think next time I will bake them less. But they were still fine, nothing ketchup couldn't fix! I also had some smoked paprika/chili powder/cilantro/oregano baked chicken tenders. Simple but delicious!
So I have been thinking over the past few weeks about what I will be doing next summer before I go off to college. I have never had a job yet, just tons of volunteer work, but I need to get a job next summer. I want to do something and something I can carry over into my college years. Many college campuses I am looking at have tons of group fitness classes and allow the students to become instructors with certifications. So I thought I could already be ahead of the game and get my certification before I go off to college. Now I love Group Power and would love to get certified with BTS, but I know Body Pump is a much popular and widely used program by Les Mills. They are both the same class, just different provider companies. I think I would go with BTS training because that is what is offered at the gym I go to and where I could possible get a summer job.

The only problem I am having right now is finding a training weekend that is in New Jersey or somewhere close to where I live. The have dates in states like Florida, Oregon, Ohio, places where I can't just go to anytime soon. They only have the schedule for the next few months (up to November), so I may just have to wait for more dates.

I love Group Power, strength training, and the great group fitness atmosphere. All the regular at my Power class have their "spots" and mine is front and center (well a little to the side...not blocking our instructor). But I feel confident and know what I am doing. I hope people look up at me as well if they are new and lost. I want to share my love for the class and be an instructor my self!
Do you have a BTS certification?
Any tips on the process of becoming a group fitness instructor?
P.S. Make sure you enter my Plant Fusion Giveaway!

my power spot is front and center too! well, whenever i can get that spot 😉 i've always wanted to be an instructor but tend to take on too much and that is something i can see myself doing with other part-time jobs later on but with a full-time job now i don't think it's for me.

Yea! Front and center is where it's at! Even if they took me on as a substitute (which I know they always need) at my gym that would be great! I just want the experience and to do something I love. I think it would be so much fun!

they look yummy!!! 🙂 sometimes putting more oil on them can help with the dryness.
