Happy Power Monday lovelies! How was your weekend? Mine turned out to be pretty great 🙂 Saturday started with a new Quinoa Flake breakfast! I used the Amazing Grass's new Cafe Mocha Amazing Meal! It was yummy 😉 I used half the packet in the flakes and then later for lunch I added the other half to my blueberry green smoothie...lovin' life!
I also went to the library and got my studying out of the way and some other homework I saw that would be introduced next week. But I hate to procrastinate so I got it done this weekend, win! I went to the grocery and then came home and cooked up a storm! Soup, bread, the works! I will be sharing all these recipes over the next couple of weeks because I did a lot of recipe development over the last two weekends! I totally burned my tongue eating the soup...happens every time, even though this soup was cooling for over an hour covered in the pot. I heated it up a bit in the microwave and well ya, it was hot. No patience here 😉 Saturday ended with a wonderful yoga session and some relaxing reading of an actual book, yay, back to my old habits! Sunday was spend just really being lazy. I took at name around 12:30 and woke-up around 1:40pm...So Good! Since I wake up at like 4:30-5ish on weekends, I think I deserve those naps anyway. Way back, I used to go back to sleep around 7:30-8am, but I just stay awake now and get things done 😉 Anyway after my nap I went downstairs to do some veggie steam action and as I was cleaning up and washing dishes I looked out the window and saw a few white flakes fall from the sky. It was snowing! But then I looked at the window thermometer and it read...65ºF. I guess it wasn't snow :p This weather is being very weird. Apparently though it will be back in the low 30s later this week...joy.
So last week I gave you guys a quick lower body workout, so I thought I would give you a quick upper body workout you can "take" anywhere over the busy holiday season! I used all bodyweight moves so you can whip this one out anywhere. Pair it with the November Leg Burner and you got a perfect full body workout!
Notes:
+ The unfamiliar moves: Shoulder Taps, Chaturange Hold, Diamond Push-Ups.
+ If you don't have a pull-up bar your can just do bent over shoulder squeezes! Just lean over with a flat back, bring your arms up and inline with you head. Then bend you elbows to your sides and squeeze those shoulder blades! Hold for 2 seconds, bring them back to start and repeat. Do 10 of these!
+ Honor your body and ability. Rest 30 seconds or so between rounds! Most importantly, have fun!
So tell me:
What is your favorite bodyweight move? Plank and Push-ups!
Try any new fun foodie products lately? I will be showing off my Vitacost haul in tomorrow's post! When that box came, it was like Christmas came a few weeks early 😉

Planks are my favorite bodyweight move 🙂 I love being able to time myself to see how I'm improving!

WHY DO YOU WAKE UP SO EARLY?! (I'm not screaming at you- I am more so crying at the thought of waking up at 5am on a Saturday- no bueno for this girl, lol) I give you mad props for being so productive. Although, when I was in college, I hated procrastinating and would get my homework done early, too! Happy Monday, girlie!

Haha! My body just wakes me up then! But I am never up past 9:30pm. And during the week I like to be asleep by like 9!

A great plan! I used to hate tricep dips but over time they really got better. I'll have to look up Chaturanga.
