Power Monday #5 Self-Love

August 5, 2013 by Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine 3 Comments

Hey! I hope your weekend awesome and treated you well. I would like to take a moment and say mine sure did! Nothing big but small victories and achievements can leave you feeling great. So here is what happened: I finished the Aeneid (feels so good to have that out of the way!). Besides Saturday, Friday and Sunday were both beautiful sunny days. Ate some good food (recipes to come Wednesday!). I had some great achievements in my Saturday yoga practice and then decided to so a self photo shot on Sunday. So all around I felt really happy and realized how much I love my body and the things it can do.

Power Monday

So that is what I will focus this Power Monday on. Loving yourself and your body.

I can feel this week will be a good one since I am already going into it with a good, positive, and upbeat mind-set. I know that if I start my week on a down note, it is really hard to Power through the week no matter what. So to prepare yourself for the week you need to be in a good place emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually (if that’s your thing). There are of course tons of ways one can achieve this, but it may take some time to find what works for you.

MY LATEST VIDEOS

It may be spending a quiet evening on Sunday with you family or loved ones.

It may be spending some me-time alone reading a book, drinking some hot tea, or taking a relaxing bath.

Maybe you need to get a good workout in, yoga session, stretch, or you may just need a rest day.

Simply going for a walk after dinner can put you in a good mood.

Or maybe you need to be a little wild and have a girls-night or a fun get-together.

Whatever it is, it should be somthing that makes YOU feel good inside and out. Surround yourself with positive people, thoughts and actions. If you feel like your weekend in winding down on a bad note. Stop and find some love. Talk to someone who cares about you and makes you feel good or go a do somthing you love. Don’t let time get away from you. Be pro-active and find that love, relaxation. Fuel your body with whole natural foods, nourish it with water, allow it to get plenty of sleep Sunday night, and tank-your body and self for being you and allowing you to have the potential and ability to Power your week.

Your body and your mind are wonderful things. They work so hard to allow you to life and enjoy life. They want you to have a good week, so give yourself some love and care and help it along!

You and Your Body are Amazing!

(The top row right picture is what I am most proud of. I finally re-mastered Natarajasana. I used to be able to do it when I was younger, but now it’s back!)

(I also can check off the unassisted handstand form my Summer Bucket List! 7 seconds is the record so far!)

Now go out there and make this week the best it can be! Love yourself, love you body, and love your life!

So tell me:

How do you start the week on a positive note?

Any achievements or moments to be proud of this weekend, big or small?
