A healthy and delicious grain-free snack! Savory Italian Tigernut Flour Crackers, easy and homemade, baked in the oven, and gluten-free, vegan, paleo, and allergy-free! They are perfect for an everyday snack or a fancy addition to an appetizer platter!
Put that bag of gluten-free crackers down and step away from the snack aisle! You need your crunchy afternoon snack, you say? You can't live without visiting your favorite aisle, the snack aisle, in the store? Don't worry! I'm not here to take away your snacking addiction, but I am here to make it even better!
Have you ever made homemade crackers? If you haven't, you're about to be amazed by just how easy peasy they are to make! No fancy equipment either, just an oven, parchment paper (or Silpat), and a rolling pin! The flavoring options are endless, just like granola and once you make your first batch, you'll be addicted to the process! No more sodium bombs or cardboard crackers for you! FRESH and delicious Savory Italian Tigernut Flour Crackers are about to be your new favorite crunchy addiction!
Since Tigernut flour has that slightly sweet taste to it, I thought it would be a perfect base for some grain-free crackers. I didn't want a totally sweet crackers (that would be too cookie like), so with some savory Italian herbs and olive oil...we'd be in business! You can also dictate how crunchy the crackers get by the thinness which you role the cracker dough out. I made mine about ⅛th an inch thick so they were a tad soft, but still crunchy. It was everything I've ever wanted in a cracker! I controlled my snacking destiny!
Personally, I'm NOT a snacker in the slightest. My mom, she is the ultimate snacker. I'm good and satisfied with big rounded meals, but hey, when there are fresh baked homemade tigernut flour crackers around, who could resist? It becomes a cracker obligation to enjoy a few if you ask me! Not only would they make a great addition to lunch, a before-bed snack, or midday pick-me-up, but also a fantastic and crowd-WOWing addition to an appetizer platter at any party or gathering! No more lame boxed crackers to ruin the party-vibe here! Prepare to gluten-free amaze everyone with these babies!

Glad you all liked them! Tigernut flour is great!

For a different flavor profile, you can omit seasonings and use unflavored oil. They are a stand in for graham crackers. Yum!

You can just make my graham cracker recipe instead of plain bland tigernut flour crackers...

I love these crackers. I'm a big one for Ryvita's (not sure if you get them over there Rebecca?) but I probably should make the effort and make my own crackers and ones that are far healthier, like these!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Haha, no, I'll have to look that one up 😉

I love making my own crackers. Most crackers may contain sesame so that is the only way to go for me.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
And most contain soy even if they're gluten-free 😉 And a lot have dairy which is weird too! Homemade crackers for everyone!
