Some of the simplest traditions end up making some of the best little memories. The holidays are full of traditions; from parties, family dinners, decorating. Then comes Christmas morning and some of the most treasured traditions are put in place.
Growing up, my brother and I would wake-up super early Christmas morning and who ever was up first would wake the other up. We would creep down the stairs and first check out the tree with all the presents underneath. Then we’d come into the living room and gaze at our stocking which were always overflowing with little wrapped gifts, so many that some wouldn’t even fit in the stockings and would be placed on the floor. We’d still be cozy in our PJs and full of excitement, but we’d keep the lights off and sit on the couch, forcing ourselves to wait until at least 7am before we forced our parents to get up! My brother and I would discuss what we hoped we’d get and be so eager to open our gifts, yet we never wanted it to go by too fast. When we open (still do) our presents, we open them slowly, to savor the moments and keep Christmas morning going as long as possible!
