Not only do you have the typical “work-at-home” distractions to combat, but tack on the unpredictable struggles of a chronic illness and things can seem like they’ll never get done. But there is a way. Here’s how to stay productive while working at home with a chronic illness.

But there is a way. Here’s how to stay productive while working at home with a chronic illness.

1 – Get a standing desk or a transformable desk – Of course this will depend on your physical needs, but I do much better standing during the day and then when work is over, sitting and resting at the end of the day. I feel better, more focused, and productive when my body isn’t scrunched up and sitting in a chair. Read More

I get it! I’ve been there (am there). Going back to work and school after a long break, the holidays, vacations, etc. is never easy. Even if you enjoy the work you do or know you just have that final push till the end of school, transitioning back can feel a bit daunting. After a stretch of relaxation and no deadlines, we tend to fall out of our groove and need some help easing back into our old productive habits. Here are my favorite 5 ways to ease back into work mode for a little more ease and a lot less pain!Read More

How-To Stay Productive & Organized On The Go

September 10, 2016 by Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine 28 Comments

The hectic school season has officially begun and is in full-force! It’s always a struggle to find your footing in a new year and get back in the “productive” routine that tends to fall to the wayside during those blissful summer months. The school season affects all of us (even if you’re many years post-grad). From September to May the “hustle” is real (I know I feel it!) I’m always looking for the best way to stay on top of school work, blogging, internships, and normal day-to-day tasks that just have to get done. Somehow I always seem to find a way to keep things under control, but who am I kidding. I still look for new ways and try new things each year that may just be easier and make things more manageable with, you know, less stress!

I love having my physical “productive” and “organization” habits and tools, but as the busy season progresses, I tend to neglect the paper planners, folders, etc. I’m always online (even though I don’t want to be), and transitioning all my work and important tasks to the virtual world just makes sense. I may not always have my paper planner, but I always have my phone, especially when on the go! Thankfully there is an easy and FREE way to keep my productivity and organization habits anywhere I go and at any time. That’s where Amazon Underground comes in handy!Read More

11 Ways I’m Staying Focused, Productive, And Organized Right Now

11 Ways I'm Staying Focused, Productive, and Organized Right Now | Strength and Sunshine @RebeccaGF666 #productivity

I Keep A Weekly To-Do List. I make a new to-do list every Sunday night on a large memo pad. This list is for the whole week. I write long-term things I want to get done, short-term, and anything that must get done on or by a certain day, I date. I also box off a little section at the bottom for things I will need to buy that week at the grocery or things I need my parents to send to me. I like it because the long-term things can just roll over to next week’s list. (Like make a media kit…that’s been on there for months!).

I Listen To Coffitivity. When I need to buckle down and write, say a paper for school or a lengthy blog post, I turn on Coffitivity. It actually really helps! I keep the volume super low, but the quiet murmur of a fake coffee shop is pretty productivity-inducing! Weird, but try it, I guarantee it will get the creative juices flowing!

I Change Up My Location And Scenery. When I feel stuck or just can not focus on my work, I pick up and move. My dorm room desk is not always the best place to work. When I venture out of my room and sit in Kogan Plaza, Ames Hall, Starbucks, even the dining hall downstairs, I can usually focus more and knock out better quality work.Read More
