This Vegan Waldorf Salad is the perfect combination of crisp, creamy, sweet, and tangy! The classic 19th-century Waldorf Astoria salad recipe with nut-free, allergy-friendly updates using apples, celery, grapes, sunflower seeds, and a sweet eggless mayo dressing! A quick and easy chilled appetizer or side dish for any occasion and easily customized!

Instructions

  1. Wash and dice your unpeeled apples before adding them to a large mixing bowl. Toss them with the lemon juice.
  2. Stir the salt and optional sweetener into the vegan mayo before adding the mayo, halved grapes, diced celery, and sunflower seeds to the bowl of apples.
  3. Toss everything to fully coat in the mayo.
  4. Chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Leftovers: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • You can use plain vegan yogurt instead of mayo to do half and half.
  • The best apples to use are Granny Smith, Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala.
