What’s In My Gluten-Free Whole Foods Pantry?

January 16, 2014 by Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine 31 Comments

I absolutely love when food bloggers do these kind of posts! I love finding out what they keep in their pantries/kitchens. Food is fascinating and everyone has different essentials and stocked items. You can tell a lot about a person by what you find in their kitchen. Since I still live at home my kitchen is nowhere near what it would be if I had my own. I try to keep it to some sort of standard, but that is really difficult when you live with 3 other people with all different food preferences. (Not to mention my family sucks at organization, haha!). But I have been able to establish certain shelves and areas as “mine” in the kitchen and pantry, and you can tell. Anything exotic, minimally processed, whole food or gluten-free (well, my mom is gluten-free, but she is processed), is mine. Haha, foodie snobbery at its finest right here 😉 Anyway, I am just going to list what I always have on hand in my pantry and kitchen. Of course there are other items that come in and out, but these items you can always find. And you can also find my favorite companies and products I have tried under my Favorites tab up top and go to Food and Drink Brands. I was also debating on putting my spice cabinet in as part of this post but…that is a post in its self, haha! I will have that one up next week for you 🙂 So without further adieu…

Being gluten-free does not have to be hard! There is nothing out there that someone not gluten-free can have and someone who is can’t adapt to fit their diet! This is awesome! Question – why do you keep garbanzo flour in freezer and peanut flour in the fridge? I keep mine in the pantry.

Peanut Flour is a nut so it has a higher tendency to go rancid. And I don;t use my chickpea flour often and it just keeps better.

    Hi,

This year I’m really trying to focus on better living and a cleaner diet. I guess the whole health food trend is finally catching up to me. Thanks for this article I found it really informative. I also work for a nutrition company that specializes in gluten free whole food multi-vitamins. I think its important to compliment your meals with supplements to make sure you are getting the most from your foods. Anyways, check out our products at LiquidHealthInc.com and we’ll be happy to send you some samples.

Thanks again for your post =D

I think if you have allergies and other diet restrictions it can’t hurt to supplement!

    You have a nice list!

Honestly, I always have Little Debbie snacks in my cupboard. We aren’t totally healthy over here. We try. I do have veggies and such but Little Debbie snacks MUST be included.

I have been gluten-free for over 4 years now due to Celiac. Is that the reason your daughter is? When I went GF I had no problem and it was very easy for me. Just let her know that she is helping her body and has to nourish it so it will be happy and healthy!
