Friday Finisher 11/15/13

Published: Nov 15, 2013 · Modified: Jan 9, 2020 by Rebecca Pytell · This post may contain affiliate links.

O boy, what a week! TGIF! I had a pretty lack luster week and really need this weekend, it couldn't have come quick enough. But it won't be relaxing like last weekend. I have tons of tests to study for next week, posts I need to get done for the blog, and college things that need to be ironed out. (I still need to write a few essays! Ah!) I am totally stressing and just all around frustrated. I think I need to just take a step back and evaluate what exactly is most important and just focus on that. I am putting way to much stress on myself right now...no good.

Has it snowed by you yet? The temps were so low this week, 20s and 30s. It lightly snowed Tuesday morning, and my mom almost didn't let me drive to school. But it was light and kept stopping and starting so I did drive and I survived 🙂 But the cold is really killing me! I go out to warm-up the car about 10 minutes before I have to leave, but my old Jeep Cherokee does not have good heat and it is still freezing when I jump in. I usually wear a sweater, light sweatshirt, and then a heavier sweatshirt over that, plus gloves and a hat. But it does not help, plus how are you supposed to keep you legs warm? This has always baffled me. I guess I should buy a trench coat, hey? And o those winter fire drills in school. We had one yesterday first period (i.e. 8am). Can you say freezing outside for 15 minutes...um yes. Alright I am done, let's just move on to the Finisher! Have a happy Friday 🙂

I just found your blog through Clare's link-up and must tell you that I know how hard the trich situation is. I go in spurts of pulling out my hair. Usually it's stress and anxiety related. It was really bad for awhile and I ended up wearing a wig for a few years. Congrats. It takes a lot of concerted effort!

Thank you Amanda! I wish you the best as well through this journey! I have been really stressed and anxious lately (because of school and since the summer ended) and I have been really struggling with keeping my hands away from my face. I may be doing an update on the blog about it soon. It is really a difficult situation.

I've never tried an ab wheel! Also, I stay warm with COFFEE! And my head to ankle coat. Chicago gets cold!

I love the ab wheel, but sadly do not have my own so I don't get to use one often.

Thank you so much for mentioning my post! Sorry to hear you're stressing out about your essays... I hope you get at least a little bit of time to chill this weekend. As for that ab wheel, YES! I used to have one when I was in my teens. Not sure what happened to it, but occasionally I do a similar exercise in the gym by rolling out on a stability ball on my forearms. Seems to hit the same spots!

I haven't found a good insolated mug that actually keeps drinks hot for a long time....and doesn't give the drink a weird taste!

Thanks for the shootout! I hate being cold too. One thing I suggest if your legs are cold is either 1) wearing tights under your pants - I used to do that when I was in college and had to walk around campus, or 2) getting a long puffy coat and some boots. That usually does the trick, but I don't pull mine out until the temps get EXTREME sometime in January.

Ya! I wish I was cool enough to be a rebel and wear my real warm winter coat, but no one in school is wearing real coats yet...stubborn teenagers!
