Friday Finisher 10/9/15

Published: Oct 9, 2015 · Modified: Jan 2, 2020 by Rebecca Pytell · This post may contain affiliate links.

As the days get shorter, the weeks get shorter, huh? Another one down and in the books! I was glad to welcome the sunshine back from the gloomy rainy week we had previous! Much better for the mood all around. Another happy note, I had my first huge bio exam on Thursday and I feel very confident about my performance (virtual high-five!). And another fun thing, do you watch The Walking Dead? Well you should, and the new season starts on Sunday! (Of course I'll be watching the episode online on Monday, so don't tell me anything!). I made sure I finished the short "Fear The Walking Dead" series they put online too. Definitely not anywhere near as good as the real show, but a nice way to ease you back in 😛

Isn't it great that Halloween is on a Saturday this year?! Well okay, maybe if I was still of trick-or-treating age it would be even better, but still, a weekend is less stress since you'll have no obligations the next day as you recover from parties, staying up late, and candy comas! I'm pretty sure I'll just watch some classic scary movies and call it a night, Saturday is my day of rest anyway. I do miss the days of dressing up though! I always went all out (why would you not!).

But we still have some weeks to go! So for now, kick you feet up, grab some coffee, and settle in for this week's Finisher! Happy weekend!

I LOVE halloween. It's my favourite holiday. And you are never too old to dress up. I have no real plans, but I'm still dressing up =) I'm heading to my friend's house so I can see the trick or treaters. Exciting =)
And we already started watching scary movies - we'll be watching all month!

I had such a gong show weekend that I didn't get a chance to sit down with and read the Friday Finisher. I love the article about hating cardio. "Why do people hate cardio and running? Because it's challenging." I so agree. I just came back from a 10km and it's always love/hate. Mostly hate when I'm running and love after. Need to find a way to switch that lol. 🙂

Hahaha! I do "hate" it, and I DO hate the stereotypical hours on the treadmill fad, but cardio isn't as fulfilling to me than something more mind stimulating like lifting, yoga, etc. At least for me. I do crave being able to run again, maybe one day. That's why I just stick with my few HIIT sessions a week biking, which I do kinda enjoy!

I only got to squeeze in a couple episodes of Fear The Walking Dead before rotations started up again (sigh).

I kinda wish I were doing a peds rotation over Halloween--it'd give me an excuse to dress up, but alas!

    Those recipes. *-*

Wow, so many good link. I loved your memory lane Halloween costume post! I'm 26 and still dress up every year even if it's just to watch a movie with a couple friends or hand out candy to kids. It's so fun. Last year I was Rosie the Riveter and this year I'm going to be Peggy Carter from Captain America (movies) and Agent Carter (TV show).

Oh oh oh I loooove the Walking Dead! I've been watching every single episode with my boyfriend and we always make sure to watch it as soon as possible to prevent spoilers from happening 😀 I'm so excited!! I can't wait it's monday already! I liked "Fear the Walking Dead"... somehow. 🙂 Especially the last 2 episodes were great and it was interesting to see the zombie apocalypse from a different standpoint and with a focus on the beginning of the apocalypse. It was a nice filler for the walking dead-season break 😀

Literally, what are we doing if we’re not combining the two coziest quick breads into one? Naturally moist and sweet from real pumpkin and ripe bananas, which makes it perfect for a gluten-free recipe that needs extra moisture and an eggless recipe since pumpkin and banana are OG vegan egg replacements! This gluten-free pumpkin banana bread is a blank slate for any cozy add-ins you can dream of, but its simplicity is what makes it shine on its own! 😋🙌

So many people still confuse the two, but it’s an autoimmune disease, not an allergy. That means gluten doesn’t cause an immediate allergic reaction resulting in hives or swelling…it causes your immune system to attack your small intestine longterm.
