I'm hoping you had a glorious holiday last weekend and the festivities are only continuing through this next week! Can you believe 2017 is only a few short days away? This year flew by, that's for sure, but I'm ready for a fresh start, how about you? As we ring in the New Year, let's not forget about our health! From mind, body, and soul, the beginning of a new year can be simply amazing, but also stress-inducing. With these 5 simple tips to staying happy and healthy in the new year, you'll be on your way to your most vibrant year yet!

1. Take some time for reflection - This doesn't have to be anything big and formal, but it's always nice to sit down with yourself in a quiet space and just think over your year. You may want to remind yourself of some of your biggest accomplishments or most favorite moments. Write them down! Save them! If you feel resistance in doing this, grab a trusted loved one and reflect together. Even if you didn't have the best year, there are always little wins we can appreciate and remember.

2. Focus on one thing you want to change, accomplish, and keep - My three-pronged approach to "non-goal-setting". Don't set crazy deadlines for yourself with insurmountable expectations that will only leave you feeling defeated. Instead, think of one thing (it can be small, like stop biting your nails!) that you want to change, one thing you want to accomplish (finally make the e-book?), and one thing you want to keep going strong in the new year (like that great meal prep you've been doing).

5 Simple Tips To Starting A Happy And Healthy New Year | Strength and Sunshine @RebeccaGF666 During and after the holidays and into the new year, staying healthy sometimes falls to the wayside for some of us. But, it doesn't have to! With these 5 simple tips to starting a happy and healthy new year, you and your family will be able live vibrantly all year long! AD RenewLifeProbiotics

3. Do a connection activity with your loved ones - The week before or week after the new year, plan to do a little something special with the ones you love. Your mom, dad, sisters, brothers, kids, spouse, whoever you love! It can be a day of baking and cooking up a fancy dinner in the kitchen or maybe just a cozy pot of soup. You could have a movie night, but not just any movie night, one where you watch old home videos from years past (this is the best and I love the belly laughs that come with it!) Maybe even take a walk around town and go exploring your own backyard!

4. Reduce some clutter - I'm not just talking physical clutter. Yes, get rid of expired food, old receipts, and clothes you'll never use. Donate some things to Good Will and sell what you can. Also remember to rid yourself of clutter. All the negativity that may have crept in over the past 12 months, it needs to go! You can do this by talking it out with a loved one, seeking and allowing yourself to forgive, or my favorite, write down all the negative and bad clutter you have on a scrap of paper, then rip it up and throw it out! The physical "disposal" helps!

5. Prepare and keep your insides thriving - Along with eating a healthy diet and keeping up a regular exercise routine, your "gut" can use a little extra love when under stressful times. With the "gut" being considered the core of your body's over-all health and well-being (70% of your immune system is centralized there!), you can keep it happy and thriving by taking a quality probiotic like Renew Life Ultimate Flora Probiotics. They help restore and balance the good bacteria in your gut and specially designed for everyone in the family.

Renew Life Probiotics is launching the “Get to Know Your Gut” education campaign in order to increase awareness and turn the table on the taboo topic of gut health and digestive wellness. Did you know that 72% of women have experienced digestive issues in the past year and 64% of them aren't even willing to talk about the issue? We need to fix that and make sure the importance of digestive health is known to everyone and no longer taboo to talk about! Here are the infographic and the rest of the survey results so you can learn more!

Great post! RenewLife is my fav probiotic brand =)
These are such great tips - #4 is actually my favourite. I love de-cluttering, it makes me feel less weighted down with things. What's the point in keeping things I never use when someone else could put it to good use?

I've never used probiotics but...I've prescribed them to people? (That still counts kindasorta, right?!)

I absolutely need to reduce some clutter, haha. This will probably have to wait til I'm not on inpatient rotations though! Too many hours spent at the hospital right now, haha. 😛

Hope you're enjoying your break! <3 Let me know when you're back! :D!

P.S. Guess who recently [finally] dug into the BFree rolls?! (SO GOOD. <3 )
