Friday Finisher 10/31/14

Published: Oct 31, 2014 · Modified: Jan 3, 2020 by Rebecca Pytell · This post may contain affiliate links.

Happy Halloween! I hope you're making a ghoulish green mug cake this morning to celebrate 😉 And watching the Halloween marathon all day on AMC! I'm a little sad though, my 1 Friday class isn't meeting today 🙁 I love my Friday class of UW!  We are having a fun "online" discussion, analyzing Jack Nicholson's character in The Shining instead! Haha! But I'm bummed we don't get to meet for actual class :/ Anyway...I hope you have some fun things planned! Although I hear there is a huge cold front moving in for tonight and this weekend (at least there is here in DC). I know there won't be any trick-or-treating in the cold for me! I'll just watch something scary on TV or Netflix 😉 If you find yourself really bored this evening, just read some of these links! I have a bunch this week, take a look!

Woooow, did I benefit from this weeks favorites or what - I have more than 15 windows open, waiting for me to dive in! Haha 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Rebecca!

I stayed in this Halloween - after all it's not that big-o-deal in my town (not-us!). We have a costume-tradition in February instead in Denmark 🙂

Favorite nut butter: prefer homemade (mix in all kinds of things really!), but love the sunseed butter from Maranatha! Yuuuuum 😛

That sounds fun! Brighten up one of the dreay cold boring months instead!

Homemade rocks 😉 MaraNatha Sunflower Seed is the best! I ALWAYS have a jar in the fridge and always use it for my not butter sandwiches for lunches!

Yeah, it's so much fun. Usually quite freezing though. Maybe I should go with an Elsa Costume next year 😉 haha..

I wished I could do the same, but when I have a jar in the house I tend to go totally nuts and eat the whole thing in two-three days! Haha woopsi 😉

Happy Halloween! Thanks for the roundup of these awesome posts! :]

This is the first day/night I've had off and I haven't slept very much since Tuesday, so staying in and watching a movie sounds like an awesome idea. Part of me is refuting this because it's Halloween and if I go in for an ER shift tonight too, I'll probably get to see a whole lot of interesting cases. :/ Can't decide!

Celiac Disease is NOT a food allergy 🚫🍞 So Celiac Disease is NOT a food allergy 🚫🍞

So many people still confuse the two, but it’s an autoimmune disease, not an allergy. That means gluten doesn’t cause an immediate allergic reaction resulting in hives or swelling…it causes your immune system to attack your small intestine longterm.

This distinction matters because:
👉 There’s no medication or quick fix
👉 The only treatment is a strict, lifelong gluten-free diet
👉 Mislabeling it as an “allergy” is scientifically incorrect. There is no such thing as a gluten allergy.

Swipe through to learn why the distinction is inportant and why accurate education and awareness is paramount. Let’s set the record straight and not mislabel our disease when speaking about it. 💛
