Grapes from California, are one fruit that I always pick up on my weekly grocery runs. I've loved them since I was a kid (they taste like candy, don't they?). Red, green, black, I love them all! A bite-sized, portable, non-messy fruit is always a win for parents packing their children's lunches (and young adults like myself!) But they have more benefits than just being delicious! Here are my top 5 reasons to choose California grapes:

1: Ripe and ready to eat: Grapes are ready to eat right from the store. No need to wait for them to ripen on your kitchen counter. 99% of grapes commercially grown in the U.S. come straight from California, during their season of May-January, plump and ready to eat right away.

2: Easy and versatile to use: All you have to do is grab some from the fridge, give them a rinse, and add them as is to you and your children’s’ lunches or you can get creative and mix them up with some vegan yogurt, diced up for a salad, sandwiches, or placed on cute fruit and veggie skewers for fun snacking.

3: A bursting source of Vitamin K: Vitamin K is essential for healthy blood flow (it helps the blood to clot properly and prevent excess bleeding). It can also help maintain your bone health!

4: Portable and mess-free: No sticky, messy fruit cups required in those lunches! Kids won’t get sticky fingers or a mess all over their clothes. That’s a bonus for us busy adults, too. We can grab some grapes off the bunch and go! Perfect, tasty, easy fuel!

5: Sweet low-calorie nutrition: Only 90 calories per ¾ cup, these juicy bursts of refreshing hydrating fruit provide a good dose of your daily potassium, as well as antioxidants and other polyphenols which help maintain a healthy heart!

We love grapes! We love to take them hiking, or really anywhere because they are so portable and TASTY! If I buy a container of grapes and leave them on the counter, no one touches them. However, if I take 5 minutes to wash them and put them in a bowl, they are GONE in 3 hours! Riddle me that, Batman! (haha)

I love snacking on grapes. I especially love freezing grapes and putting them in my wine.

I love this. The effects of good nutrition are so surprising. We eat grapes every single week at our house b/c it's one of the fruits that everyone in our family likes.
