The Gluten-free & Allergen Friendly Expo (GFAF Expo), is a wonderful small event to attend if your’re new to gluten-free living. While not so beneficial for veterans, it’s a safe place to learn about some big name and small name brands, companies, and maybe even learn something new at the speaking sessions they hold throughout the weekend long expo. This was my second time ever going to the GFAF Expo, this years as an official blog ambassador. While it was smaller than 2 years ago (not sure why), there were still a few highlights and some fun products I want to share with you all!
The best Gluten-Free & Allergen-Friendly expo where celiacs, gluten & food allergic, autoimmune suffers alike can gather for a safe consumer to brand in-person experience! The GFAF Expo is the chance to connect with manufacturers, educators, services, and the community as a whole!
I am so excited to be an official blog ambassador for the GFAF Expo this year! If you’re a very long-time reader, you’ll remember that I attended the expo 2 years ago and blogged about it here. It was the first “foodie” expo I’d ever attended as it’s rare you can find any type of expo or conference close to New Jersey! I loved it though and was sad I couldn’t attend last year, but this year I am able to get up there again as well as be an ambassador. (Finally those business cards will com in handy!)
Anyway, if you don’t know what the GFAF Expo is, let me tell you! “The GFAF Expos are the largest and fastest growing special diet consumer events in the US. Started in 2007, the events are professionally managed and have expanded from one to seven cities throughout the United States. In addition to meeting the needs of the Celiac community, the Expo welcomes those with gluten sensitivities, auto-immune/inflammatory diseases and autism.”Read More

Have you heard of Target’s new Clorox Green Works line of all natural, plant-based cleaning products? I hadn’t, but I’m glad I do now! Specifically the Green Works Pump ‘N Clean product! As you know, I must be super vigilant about the cleanliness of my kitchen. Counter tops, pots, pans, plates, cutlery. It all needs to be free of cross contamination from allergens and gluten. Living in a house where not everyone is gluten-free, you have to clean up all the time, before you cook, during cooking, and afterwards.
Because I have to do so much cleaning, that happens around food, I want a natural product without harsh chemicals, fumes, or residue. Something that’s safe to use around food, but still gets the job done* (do not use for cleaning up after raw meat/fish). That’s exactly what I get with the new Pump ‘N Clean! As-you-go clean up, safe, and with one pump of the hand! That’s really nice to, since things can get very messy as I’m creating in the kitchen, but now I can simple pump some cleaner on a sponge or rag and whip! So quick, so easy!Read More

When it comes to a beauty routine, I’m pretty minimalist. Just a little good skincare and touching up. I feel strong and confident when I’m not weighed down by make-up and my natural beauty can shine. Maybe it’s my young age, but I’m comfortable in my own skin and natural state. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved make-up and was introduced to it at a very young age due to my dance career. Of course “stage” and “competition” make-up is a whole other story. But now-a-days, I like the natural look best. I think the human body is beautiful, and for me personally, I feel most strong and confident being a minimalist.
To feel strong and confident, as an empowered young women, I have to have a strong “base layer” so to speak. That starts with my skin. My sensitive allergic skin. Since my body is also so important to me, my vessel for fitness and image of youthful beauty, I want my skin to be smooth, to glow and radiate. That all starts right in the shower. That intimate time when It’s just you and the water on your skin. It’s also the time for prepping and pampering the skin. Since water can’t work alone in taking care of sensitive skin, using St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Body Wash or their Fresh Apricot Scrub on my face does the trick.Read More
