Friday Finisher 1/31/14

Published: Jan 31, 2014 · Modified: Jan 9, 2020 by Rebecca Pytell · This post may contain affiliate links.

I hope you all had a good week! Especially if you experienced any crazy weather; I hope you are safe and getting back to normal 🙂 Can you believe today is the last day of January! First month of 2014 is in the books...Yay! I have to say, 2014 has not impressed me yet, but hopefully that just means the good stuff is yet to come. Like hearing back from colleges, warm weather, graduations, blogging trips, summer, yoga teacher training, running a 5k... I still have high hopes! What is getting me done now though is school. Not the work, but just the whole situation, it isn't good right now. O how I just need to turn 18 and get out of here and start a new journey. And did I tell you guys I stopped my daily 5 minute meditations. Yea, I know, it didn't last long. But I was feeling way to mush anxiety about it once school started back up after break. But I have been more mindful to take some deep breaths and breath more throughout the day. I have also actually began taking Savasana at the end of my yoga practices too. Meditations shouldn't be forced, but implemented in the right times; that is my new outlook 🙂

And now my 4th link-up to FTSF (Finish The Sentence Friday)! FTSF is that you are given a sentence each week and you finish it however you want, long or short. This week’s sentence was, "A funny thing happened on the way to..."

Janine's Confessions of A Mommyaholic
A funny thing happened on the way to the Winnie the Pooh ride at Disney World. My mom, grandma, and I were going to get in one of the honey pot cars, and my brother, dad, and grandpa were going in the one behind us. We had just waited a very long time and had only decided to go on the ride because a rain shower had started and we needed cover. Well it was finally out turn and I got in the car first, then my mom, and then my grandma...well kind of. As my grandma was halfway stepping in, the little automatic door closed on her leg. It then proceeded to open and close again, smashing her ankle and keeping her from getting loose. She started yelling for the operators to stop the car and shouting, "My Leg!", and then my mom started freaking out. Everyone was yelling and things went crazy. I was just sitting there (a young 4th grader) scared to death and started crying. I had no idea what was happening and almost jumped out of the car on my side. I think the boys were just looking on, not knowing what the heck was happening! Eventually the door opened long enough for my grandma to get loose and then the car just went right on through the ride. My grandma's ankle was red, swollen, and hurt. By this point everyone was crying. When we got to the end of the ride, we started yelling at the operators asking why the hell they didn't try to help and then just proceeded to let us be taken through the ride. They said they were sorry and that, "It happens." WHAT! Wow, way to be Disney. Once we got off the ride we went into a princess store and we all just started reliving the event and telling each of our perspectives to each other. We realized just how ridiculous the whole scene must have been and we all started laughing so hard we were falling on the floor of the store, crying from our laughter. We now always tell this story when we get together and relive the truly horrifyingly funny moment over and over. So let this be a warning to you all...The most dangerous ride at Disney is not Mission: Space, but the deceivingly innocent Winnie the "I am going to crush your leg in my honey-pot" ride. **Thankfully my grandma was okay and just had a bruised ankle, nothing was broken!**

A few things I loved about my week or am grateful for:

+ Aurorae Yoga! I received a tank top for Christmas that I wanted from them. I had a black one that I absolutely loved and wanted another color. It ended up being purple, but it was completely...not right. It was so stretched out, and looked like it had been washed 50 times. Weird because it was totally new. So I contacted them about my disappointment and they we so kind! They know I love their company and love all the other products I own from them, but they went above and beyond. With no coast to me, no hassle, they sent me a new tank (this time I opted for pink) for free! They told me they had been having trouble with the purple tanks due to the dyeing process. But I just received my new pink tank and it is exactly how it should be! Thank you Aurorae <3 P.S. Their yoga mats rock! I got a yellow one for Christmas too, and it is my favorite thing 🙂

+ I have a pretty chill weekend ahead so I am looking forward to just keeping calm, relaxing, and smashing my fear!

+ I have reached the mini-milestone of 100 likes on Facebook! Yay! Thank you all so much for you love, readership, and support. I love connecting with you all 🙂

So tell me:

Have any good customer service company stories to share? I love the smaller companies that actually get back to you quickly and truly take what you have to say to heart!

What was you favorite ride at Disney World (not Land...)? I loved Mt.Everest! It is the only and will be the only real roller coaster I ever went on! Crazy fun even if I closed my eyes, screamed, and held on to my dad for dear life all 4 times I went on! (P.S. Disney World is way better then Disney Land. So, yea, just saying!)

What's on the weekend plans for you?

I'm not adventurous and haven't been to either Disneyland or World in 10 years. I went to Disney World when I was 12 and remember loving Epcot after seeing Barbie's celebration at Epcot.
