Stress-Free Blog Maintenance

Published: Jul 23, 2015 Β· Modified: Jul 23, 2017 by Rebecca Pytell Β· This post may contain affiliate links.

I am not a techie-blogger. I am scared to death to go in to the inner-depths of the blog where all the CSS, HTML, plugins and coding are. I'm literally scared that if I even click to open a certain page, my blog may just blow-up and all will be lost. I hold my breath just updating plugins! At least my blogging "behind the scene" maintenance anxiety doesn't have to be a major hurdle anymore. Obviously, I love WordPress and it is the best blogging platform to have. As for web hosting, when I converted to self-hosting last year, I when with HostGator and I have never looked back. I loved them from day one and have always had the greatest, easiest support from them. So I'm excited to share info about the new HostGator Optimized WordPress hosting platform!

Stress-Free Blog Maintenance | Strength and Sunshine @RebeccaGF666 #GatorPress

So what is it exactly? With this optimized platform there are some new great features that make blogging stress-free and easy so you won't get the "behind the scene" maintenance anxiety.

+ Automatic updates for plugins, themes, and WordPress

+ Sitelock malware scanning and removal

+ Sitelock Content Delivery Network (CDN)

+ CodeGuard daily backup and restores (down to the file level) <--- Yes, please!

Stress-Free Blog Maintenance | Strength and Sunshine @RebeccaGF666 #GatorPress

This new premium platform was created to specifically optimize and help easily manage everything in WordPress. Hostgator will be doing all the worry-work for you, so you can sit back and focus on writing content, not updating and worrying about back-ups and security! And now you don't even need to have the extra burden of logging into a separateΒ HostGator cPanel, since HostGator will be doing any management on that part for you! For more in-depth info on the new platform, check out this link!

Stress-Free Blog Maintenance | Strength and Sunshine @RebeccaGF666 #GatorPress

Of course, you get all the wonderful features of HostGator that drew me to choose and trust them, with my blog baby, in the first place.

+Β 24/7 live support via online chat, phone, or email. <--- I remember, one or two days after switching over and having to call for some help at 6am. They were there and got everything straightened out in a snap! I knew I'd made a great decision choosing them!

+Β One click WordPress installs - no messy downloading and uploading of files.

+ One click and start, easy-to-use website builder (drag and drop tools that make building a site easy as pie).

+ Design services. You can have a professional do it for you if that's not your thing!

+ Marketing services (including SEO and PPC) by experts in the field, helping you generate the traffic you want.

+ Domains. You can register your domain right through HostGator <--- Which is what I did!

Stress-Free Blog Maintenance | Strength and Sunshine @RebeccaGF666 #GatorPress

HostGator makes blog maintenance, hosting, and management as stress-free as possible. Anytime someone is switching hosts or beginning blogging, I am always the girl to recommend, loud and proud, to go with HostGator! I seriously have had only great experiences with them and now with this Optimized WordPress platform, even greater experiences are to come!

So tell me:

+ Are you a HostGator lover? Yes and always!

+ Do you get the "behind the scene" blog maintenance anxiety like me?

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

I know how you feel! I started out terrified of all things coding, but have actually learned alot over my 8 years blogging. Actually, just today I added an after-post widget area to my site and felt pretty excited about it. When I do "break" my site, I'm grateful that I use DreamHost and can click a "restore" button that will restore my site to a time within 1 hour to 1 day prior. It's nice to know not all is lost!

I do get a bit nervous about making changes to the blog, but Hun will help me out and point me in the right direction or tell me what terms to use so I can find the answer. I like doing things myself, so that can be interesting, but I also have a "dummy site" where I can make major changes and see how they go before making those changes to my "live" site! πŸ™‚

I went to school for graphic design and they also taught me basic coding. Throughout the years I've taught myself HTML, XHTML and a little java script. I started my blog on Blogger and moved it to WordPress 3-4 months ago, I self host with Bluehost. So far so good, something is wrong with my wordpress account it only allows me to post in HTML so there are lots of [embed] at first it was super intimidating but now I'm used to it and am thankful I'm getting to practice formatting a website with a little code. If I didn't have all this experience I would be totally lost. I know stress free blog maintenance is a must for most blogger.

It took me like 3 days of working non-stop morning till night to get it all figured out! Messing with stuff like hosting and servers and codes scares the heck out of me and I've already had to do way more of it than I ever wanted to since switching to self-hosted. This vegan gumbo recipe is still hearty and full-flavored without meat or seafood. Fully plant-based without any mock meat or soy, just whole food ingredients! We are replacing the animal protein with kidney beans, potatoes, and hearts of palm. This trifecta provides meaty textures and protein to the stew, plus reduces the need for extra cooking time since we’re taking the lazy way and using canned ingredients. The roux is made with gluten-free flour and vegan butter for a thick, rich, hearty stew that will stick to your bones.πŸ˜‹πŸ™Œ
