First and foremost, let's take a moment and thank our veterans. These men and women are some amazing individuals and deserve all the respect, compassion, and love in the world. My wishes and love go out to each and everyone of them <3

I'm not actually an "app" person. I really use my phone the least amount possible (except for blog reading!). But I was asked to review a new social app called Band! Why not give it a try and see how it is? I actually think it is a pretty cool concept and can be pretty useful. Let me fill you in on exactly what Band is and what it does:
+ Band is a group communicating app that allows you to stay in touch and organized with groups of people in your life.
+ You create groups with as few or as many people as you need. Make a large community for something you care about or a small group to plan for that holiday party. You add only the people you want. So you can make it a personal group or invite other strangers on band and get to know them!
+ Within each group you can instantly chat with everyone, set up lists and to-dos where you can keep track of what you need for a get-together or goals you want accomplished that everyone has access to, create polls and questions, calendars, file and picture sharing, really anything!
+ You can even access your "Bands" right on you computer too! The app is available in the App Store (Apple users) and Google Play (Andriods).
Actually, it is the perfect app for college students, families, and coworkers! (Really anyone can find a use!) You can stay connected with the people YOU want and not get information lost in all the chaos of other social media like Facebook, Twitter, etc. The Band app is perfect for organizing study groups, clubs, sports teams, parties, coworker meet-ups and projects, family gatherings, even bloggers wanting to work on a project together!
I can use it to easily stay connected with my family! We can instantly chat together and share photos. We can plan for our holiday get-togethers while we are all miles away! And if you have an urgent message or question to get out, instead of waiting for email replies or people to see you question in a Facebook group, they will be instantly notified by your message or new posting right on their phone. So hey, some apps actually can be pretty good 😉 Everything you post or do in your group is easily accessible and doesn't get lost in "the feed." Everyone's voices and thoughts will be read and seen so no one will be left out! With the group calendar (which I think is the best!) no one can say they forgot or have an excuse for being hours late! O, and this is a free app which just doubles the fun! Am I right? 😉
So tell me:
+ Have you heard of or have used Band before?
+ What groups would you create using Band?
+ What are some of your favorite apps? (Besides Facebooks, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest!)
**Disclaimer: I am reviewing Band as a Her Campus Blogger with my complete and honest opinions!**

I've never of heard of this before. I'm always looking for new apps. Off to check it out now. Thanks for sharing!

Hi there Rebecca, thanks for enlightening me to this app 'Band.' I have not heard of it before. Like that it's free too. But, I have to admit, I am a bit of a luddite when it comes to apps...I haven't found them to be very useful...but maybe I just don't have the right ones. Love that photo of all the pens being put to paper though, it brings out my love of letter writing and sending a piece of snail mail once and a while. I believe there is even an app for that! 🙂 Visiting via "FlusterBuster" linkup.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Uh, thanks I guess, haha!
Emily @ Zen & Spice
We could really use a linked calendar! That would be so useful !
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Right? That's what I think too!
Michele @ paleorunningmomma
This sounds really cool! I feel like I'm behind with tech/apps and I don't use my phone a ton so I need people to tell me what's useful and what's not.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Girl, I'm the same way! I always find out about techie things WAY late, haha!
Alysia @ Slim Sanity
Haven't heard of band! I use so many apps on my phone, it's ridic. haha
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Haha, I use the least amount possible!
Farrah
This sounds really awesome! I unfortunately have something like 4 different group chats because each set of friends prefers a different app. D: Maybe I can convince them all to make a pilgrimage to this one!? *-* The to do list and calendar would make things so much easier to plan!
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
You should get them all to try it out! Yea! I love the calender! That way everyone can see what days are open for everyone, etc!
Kimberly
Interesting. I can think of so many uses for this. I'll have to check it out.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
You should!

This is such a neat app. I had never heard of it before. I will definitely be looking into it though! This would be perfect for my friends and I to use.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Yes! Its great for groups of friends to plan things together!

I don't recall hearing about the "band" app before - is it very different to "group message"?
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
Completely! Each group has it's own "world" so to speak. One large dashboard where everything shows up and you can post to, plus an instant message room, plus a photo/album sharing room, a huge group calendar, the ability to make surveys and polls, lists, etc!
Emily @My Healthyish Life
I've never heard of that before! I just downloaded "Group Me" to communicate with people in a group project for school. Not sure I love it but it serves it's purpose.
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
That was brought up in one of the point about this app! They said Band was MUCH better and more functional than Group Me! (But....I've never tried Group Me, so I can't verify that, haha!)
Linz @ Itz Linz
interesting - i hadn't heard of band before - thanks for sharing
Rebecca @ Strength and Sunshine
I never hear about any of these new "techie" things 😉
