Thick slices of cauliflower, rubbed with spices and grilled to tender perfection. Served with a slightly spicy tahini sauce, these grilled ginger cauliflower steaks need to hit your grill stat!
Do I have something delicious to share! We all know the magic we can create with the humble cauliflower, and this recipe just adds to that magic ten-fold! These grilled ginger cauliflower steaks are guaranteed to end any veggie-hater’s snubbing of plants. These steaks come out so tender and soft. The flavors of ginger with a special “nutty” tahini sauce with some coconut aminos and chili paste…so good!
You know, I really don’t think there is any bad food when you grill it. Grilling = Amazing. You can transform any food, any ingredient into something so spectacular, all by using a certain cooking method. That’s even more magic for you! I actually think grilling is easier than roasting or baking something. Once you get the hang of using your own grill and you know the ins and outs, it becomes a piece of cake!
During the learning process, yes, you may end up catching things on fire, but it’s all worth it! Chicken, for instance, is IMMENSELY better and much easier to cook perfectly when grilled. In the summer, my family requests I only cook chicken on the grill (and I would only have it that way too!) It’s just perfect and I know exactly how to do it. It’s all a science and a rhythm once you learn!
Lucky duck you, I grilled these cauliflower steaks right inside on my grill pan. You don’t have to worry about running out of gas or fire! So it’s even easier for you and you can do this all year long, not just when the weather cooperates! You get to watch it and smell it too. You can easily make sure those grill marks look beautiful and picture worthy! Grilling, my love runs deep! It always used to be such a treat when my dad would be home to grill something for me! Now, I call myself the GRILL MASTER!
Grilled Ginger Cauliflower Steaks with Tahini Sauce
- Trim the outer leaves and soft stems off the cauliflower. Then cut 4, ½ inch thick, slices of the cauliflower head, lengthwise.
- Rub the cut steaks with the garlic, onion, and ginger (use more if necessary).
- Heat a large greased grill pan (you can also use a normal grill or any grill you have!) over high heat.
- Once hot, place the steaks on the grill and grill for 8 minutes. Flip them and grill for about another 8 minutes.
- To make the sauce, mix together the tahini, coconut aminos, and chili paste.
- To serve, plate the cauliflower steaks, drizzle on the tahini sauce, and top with black sesame seeds!
These flavors are just stunning together! The ginger and tahini. Add that smoky grilled taste and you’ll be cauli-loving! You haven’t had cauliflower until you’ve had grilled ginger cauliflower steaks (and that killer tahini sauce!) If you’re looking for a fantastic non-stick grill pan, I do recommend this one I have. You know I know my “appliances” and this grill pan is spectacular! Always such clean, perfect results!
