  • Fresh Snow Peas: Unless you pull them fresh from the garden, most snow peas can be bought in bulk at your local grocery without the need to trim any thought stems. Look for fresh, crisp, and sturdy snow peas for the best flavor.
  • Seasonings: You can keep it simple with all-purpose seasonings like black pepper, salt, garlic, and onion powder. You can also tailor the spices and herbs you use to the dish you'll be serving them with!

Flavors That Go Well With Snow Peas

  • Asian Flavors like sesame seeds, coconut aminos, and ginger
  • Chili Powder or Hot Sauce to make them spicy
  • Smoked Paprika and Cumin for a smokey bbq flavor
  • Curry Powder to make them fragrant and lively
  • Nutritional Yeast to give them a nice cheesy kick
  • Dried Herbs like cilantro or dill
  • Go-To All-Purpose Seasoning because you just can't go wrong

How To Make Snow Peas In The Air Fryer

  1. Toss together the rinsed and dried, trimmed snow peas with your choice of seasonings in a bowl or directly in your air fryer basket.
  2. Set your air fryer to 400°F and air fry for 5-8 minutes, depending on the level of crispness you want. Toss the halfway through so they roast evenly.

How Long Do You Air Fry Snow Peas

Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, the more snow peas you cook in one batch the longer they will take to roast and crisp. If the snow peas have ample airflow, your peas will be perfect in just 4-6 minutes for a light tender roast. For larger batches or crisper snow peas, anywhere from 5-8 minutes is best!

What To Serve With Snow Peas

Air-fried snow peas are great as a side dish to entrees like roast chicken, orange chicken, cashew chicken, general tso's chicken, grilled salmon, Thai tuna curry, or plant-based options like orange chickpeas, vegan scallops, or sesame noodles.

You can serve them with dips and spreads like this soy-free teriyaki sauce, roasted red pepper hummus, baba ghanoush hummus, bbq sauce, or vegan sour cream!

How To Store Leftovers & Freeze

You can store leftover air-fried snow peas in a closed container in the fridge for 5-7 days. To freeze them, allow them to come to room temperature before storing them in an airtight ziplock freezer bag for up to 6 months.

How To Crisp & Reheat Snow Peas

Air fryer snow peas are perfectly delicious cold from the fridge, however, to make them warm and crisp again, you can toss them back in your air fryer and air-fry them at 350°F for 2-3 minutes. If you are air-frying them from frozen, add them directly to your air fryer and fry at 375°F for 5-7 minutes, tossing halfway through.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 16 oz Fresh Snow Peas

Seasonings:*

  • ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
  • ½ Tsp Onion Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Black Pepper
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse and dry your snow peas. Trim them if needed and add them to a bowl.
  2. Add your chosen seasonings to the snow peas and toss to coat.
  3. Place about half the snow peas in a single layer with some breathing room in your air fryer basket (you may need to do more or fewer batches depending on the size of your air fryer).
  4. Set the air fryer to 400°F and cook the snow peas for 5-8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through. For tender snow peas stop at 4-5 minutes, for crispier snow peas stop at 6-8 minutes.

Notes

Seasonings: These are suggestions. You can use any seasonings you'd like, in the amounts you'd like. Adjust everything to taste.

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for about 7 days.

Freeze in a Ziplock freezer bag for 6 months.

Reheat from the fridge by tossing your snow peas back into the air fryer and fry at 350°F for about 2-3 minutes. From the freezer, you can add them frozen to the air fryer and fry at 375°F for 5-7 minutes, toss halfway through if they were frozen together.
